Like people, plants are prone to mingling. Reaching for the sun, they embrace their neighbors with tendrils, stems and shoots to create splendid botanical tapestries. In roadside patches, native plant communities and even well-tended garden beds, I seek out nuanced gestures between twig and leaf, petal and pod, that yield layered images that hum with a photosynthetic pulse. The interplay may be abstract but the images remain fully grounded and invite us to commune with nature's silent social network.
These images are all made in camera with no multiple exposures or compositing.
