This is the story of three people who live in a remote corner of America. I followed each of them for three years on their ups and downs to learn how they made a go of life in Rio Arriba County, N.M., a place that has few jobs, one of the highest per-capita death rates from drugs and alcohol in the United States and a historic sense of loss over the land their ancestors were swindled out of. The story is about the place and how the people belong to it. I also have written a narrative that tells the story in words. I would like to publish this project as a book.
