I'm insatiably curious.
I want to know all the stuff and share.
I found the first home for my passion for visual storytelling as a photojournalist where I indulged daily in the indelible and visceral impact that authentic images have on the heart and soul. The skills I developed as a photojournalist - from making an immediate connection with people to working at a fast pace and meeting daily deadlines - serves me well with editorial, advertising and commercial clients. Regardless of the project, the thread of my work is building a bond with the viewer that establishes empathy for our shared experiences through bold images.
In addition to my two decades of photography experience, I have been an entrepreneur where I drove the strategy and business operations of the early stages of a small-scale ferry operation in San Francisco. I guided the startup phase to prepare the business for rapid growth. I used my organizational, goal oriented experience as a journalist and my fearless curiosity to dive into the unknown and find success. This experience gave me invaluable insight into the client's perspective when they have a lot riding on each shoot. I do more than make compelling images, I contribute on a strategic level to ensure each project stays focused on immediate goals.
I like to think I have a healthy balance of right and left brain thinking. I'm able to push the envelope when the creative challenge calls for it while at the same time staying mindful of a client's needs, the creative brief and the budget.
I live in Philadelphia with my wife, two kids and rescue puppy and work everywhere but I also work local in my hometown, Dallas, TX.
